Mazak named Seco Tools a VIP in June 2011 to provide Mazak customers with advanced cutting tools for complete optimized manufacturing solutions tailored to their specific needs. Seco’s cutting tool expertise and diverse product portfolio enables Mazak machine owners to increase their productivity and profitability. Together, Mazak and Seco have worked on innovative tooling concepts for the aerospace industry. Seco also serves as an industry expert at several Mazak technology events.

Reliance Tool & Manufacturing Company

Located in Elgin, Illinois, Reliance Tool is a full service design, die building, metal stamping, and rubber and plastic mold builder that can assemble many varieties of sub assemblies and finished parts. The company can machine intricate contours in round Silicon Nitride and Zirconia ceramics in one-tenth the time it takes to grind them.

Reliance, with the help of advanced Mazak and Seco solutions, is developing optimized machining processes for extremely hard ceramic materials, such as those in the 80-Rc range. These materials and processes will then be incorporated to produce ceramic bearings for testing as to their potential use in U.S. military aircraft, mainly helicopters.
