Mazak INTEGREX e-420H-S II Provides 5-Axis Done-In-One Capabilities

Advanced 5-Axis Multi-Tasking makes for complete part machining from raw material

Florence, Kentucky, October 25, 2011 – Mazak demonstrated its Five Levels of Multi-Tasking technology with 15 different machine models at T3 – Tomorrow's Technology Today, a Discover Mazak 2011 event. The INTEGREX e-420H-S II, one of the most advanced machines, demonstrates the fourth level of Multi-Tasking technology from Mazak.

Mazak's Five Levels of Multi-Tasking were developed as an effective way for manufacturers to determine the best multi-tasking technology for meeting their specific application and process needs. Level 4 machines emphasize automation and processing large or highly complex workpieces using full, simultaneous 5-axis machining.

The INTEGREX e-420H-S II features two equally powerful opposed turning spindles, both having 40 hp (30 kW) and maximum speeds of 4,000 rpm, and both providing C-axis control. Additionally, a strong 30 hp (22 kW), 12,000-rpm integral motor milling spindle that rotates 240° in the B-axis provides simultaneous 5-axis and high-feedrate milling operations. A standard 40-tool, 80 or 120 optional, tool magazine offers versatility in the shapes and sizes of tools that can be stored to further support multi-tasking part processing operations.

The INTEGREX e-420H-S II provides a maximum swing of 26.4" (670 mm) and a 16.5" (420 mm) Y-axis. Longer workpieces are also easily handled in the machine's bed length of 60" (1,500 mm), 120" (3,000 mm) optional.

Axis travels on the INTEGREX e-420H-S II incorporate Mazak's MX Hybrid Roller Guide System that provides levels of durability and reliability, resulting in long-term accuracy. The Mazak MX Hybrid Roller Guide System dampens vibration to extend tool life, handles higher load capacities, accelerates and decelerates quicker to shorten cycle times, consumes less oil for "Greener" operations, and lasts longer with less required maintenance.

Mazak equips the INTEXGREX e-420H-S II with a laptop computer connecting with the machine's CNC control to provide part production information, as well as tutorial and troubleshooting manuals.
