Florence, Kentucky, November 5, 2012 – Mazak Corporation is hosting a special “Discover More with Mazak” manufacturing event at its Southwest Technology Center in Houston, Texas on Dec. 5 and 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to present breakthrough advancements for overcoming part-production challenges within a variety of industries, including energy and aerospace.
From the latest highly advanced machine tools performing real-world application cutting demonstrations to expert manufacturing guidance, this two-day event will allow shops of all sizes to discover new, unique ways to achieve more productivity and profitability.
The Mazak machine tools that will be on display performing leading-edge turning, milling, 5-axis and Multi-Tasking operations include the ORBITEC 20 machining center, SLANT TURN NEXUS 600M turning center, SLANT TURN NEXUS 500 turning center with a 7.2” spindle bore, QUICK TURN NEXUS 450 MY Multi-Tasking machine with a 10.2” spindle bore, VORTEX 1060/V8 vertical machining center, HORIZONTAL CENTER NEXUS 6800 horizontal machining center, VARIAXIS i-800 machining center and INTEGREX j-300 Multi-Tasking machine.
Additionally, attendees will have access to the Southwest Technology Center’s regional industry expertise and application engineering resources for gaining valuable solution ideas. Such resources include Mazak’s new 3-4-5 productivity solution that helps manufacturers develop highly optimized manufacturing systems, from 3 levels of CNC controls that offer advanced operator support, to 4 levels of automation that focus on better equipment utilization, to 5 levels of Multi-Tasking that shorten cycle times by using fewer machines to complete cutting operations. Mazak VIP partner Sandvik Coromant will also present on best machining practices during the event.
The 30,000-square-foot Mazak Southwest Technology Center is located at 10950 Greenbend Blvd. in Houston, Texas, which is part of the Greenspoint District, a community 15 miles north of downtown Houston and minutes from the Bush Intercontinental Airport. Mazak moved its Southwest operations to this 4.5-acre location in June 2011 to bring increased support to manufacturers in all industries, with a special focus on those serving the energy sector.
