Ontario, Canada, May 14, 2012 - Mazak Canada recently added three new direct service technicians to its western Canada operations to further support the continuous upswing of manufacturing business throughout the region.
These new hires, when combined with the certified personnel from the company's distribution partner, Machine Toolworks, Inc., bring Mazak's service team for the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba to 10 fully experienced technicians.
Overall, Mazak Canada schedules all 22 of its service technicians out of the company's Canadian headquarters in Cambridge, Ontario, where recent facility upgrades further enhance the service team's already impressive customer response times.
According to Ray Buxton, general manager for Mazak Canada, developing advanced manufacturing technologies is only part of what Mazak does to help its customers increase their productivity and profitability. The company offers an Optimum Plus program, which includes technical support expertise, to enable Mazak owners to maximize their machine tool investments.
"We are a single point of contact for all customer questions or concerns—whether related to a machine, control, accessory or an automation system," he said. "Our technicians also provide a wide variety of services, such as ball bar qualification and analysis, preventive maintenance plans, and vibration analysis and benchmarking."
Training and process improvements are two other facets of Mazak's Optimum Plus program. Mazak Canada, along with its two distribution partners in Canada, have added new applications specialists to their teams for a total of eight highly skilled employees to handle training and process improvements. Additionally, Mazak Canada, which offers a tiered learning program that ranges from hands-on teaching to real-world examples, has expanded its training course schedules in both Edmonton (Machine Toolworks) and Cambridge (Mazak headquarters), offering several courses per month at these locations.
