Located in Schaumburg, Illinois since 1988, our Midwest Regional Headquarters and Technology Center provides the vibrant manufacturing markets of America's Heartland with industry specific, productivity-improving resources. Manufacturers across all market segments, including automotive, die/mold, medical, fluid power, aerospace, construction and agricultural manufacturing, utilize this center for its regional industry expertise and application engineering resources.
The Mazak Midwest Regional Headquarters and Technology Center serves as a regional service hub with a total of 56,000 square feet of floor space where area manufacturers have local access to the latest advanced manufacturing systems and technical service and support.
As the demands of Midwest manufacturers constantly change, our Midwest Technology Center continuously evolves to provide the most innovative and relevant solutions for increased productivity. In fact, the most recent expansion of our facility accommodates large machine tools and automation systems to help local manufacturers combat increased global competition. Additionally, the expansion further strengthens locally focused technical and application engineering capabilities as well as service and customer training support.
Of the Midwest Technology Center's 56,000 square feet of floor space, 26,000 square feet is dedicated to the development of extensive turnkey systems for our customers. We perform test cuts and full integration of automation with machines tools. We also run live technology demonstrations that involve high-speed, high-torque 3- and 5-axis turning and Multi-tasking machines with bar feeders, complete unattended PALLETECH Manufacturing cells and cells using articulated robots. Also, the facility hosts technology demonstrations through specific open house and technology events attended by Mazak Value Inspired Partners that provide value-added tooling, work holding, material handling, gaging/inspection, CAD/CAM, chip disposal, and automation technologies.
To provide customers with more learning opportunities, the Midwest Technology Center now houses a 124-seat auditorium and two fully equipped modern training rooms. The large teaching area allows us to host more local area manufacturers and offer more training classes, technical seminars and special events. Mazak's high level of training and technical support ensure customers are knowledgeable and informed of the latest manufacturing techniques and technologies that will keep them competitive and allow them to achieve the maximum return on their machine tool investments.
Our continued investment in the Midwest Technology Center, as well as our seven other Regional Technology Centers in North America, embodies Mazak's steadfast commitment to our customers and to supporting U.S. Manufacturing. Close collaboration within these centers gives us the means to receive direct customer feedback as to how we can better serve the various manufacturing sectors and in turn, apply that knowledge to continuous product improvement and new product development.
